Yoshihide Nagase, CEO

Technologic Arts Inc., on March 27, 2012, will collaborate with Nong Lam University to develop an Agile IT Training Program for university students focusing on software engineering.

Ten years have passed since the inception of the acronym "BRIC", which refers to the economies of Brazil, Russia, India and China. Since that time, these countries have developed strong ties with Japanese companies and have become key players in the global market. However, the recent astounding economic growth has caused shortages in skilled labor, resulting in increased wage costs. This has become problematic for Japanese companies running operations in countries such as China.
Such problems have caused Japanese companies to shift their attention to other emerging markets, notably Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines (VIP). VIP is characterized as Japan friendly with young demographics representing a majority of the population, as is evident in its vibrant work force. These characteristics are very attractive for Japanese companies looking to engage in business globally.
VIP has also seen a strong growth in its IT sector, which can be seen in an increase in the number of highly skilled software engineers. Some have even said that the level of software development in India and China have surpassed that of Japan and Vietnam is on the same track.

Therefore, we feel that it is imperative to cooperate with Universities in Vietnam to provide the next generation of Vietnamese software engineers with the latest software education and training needed to produce software for the Japanese market.
Our training course is a 3-month course broken up into 5 subjects: Introduction to UML, Introduction to Agile Software Development, Introduction to Design Pattern (Java version), Introduction to Test-Driven Development (Java version) and Introduction to Refactoring (Java version). This course is taught by our local staff and is free of cost for 4th-year university students desiring to be software engineers.

Our program will produce work ready graduates immediately able to contribute to their companies. In addition, it will help strengthen ties with our partner universities in Vietnam. Moreover, we not only hope to establish this program in Vietnam but also expand it to other Asian countries.
